- Mrs. Williams received her education in the public schools of Fairmont and of Fairmont State Normal School. She studied piano and related subjects in the School of Music at West Virginia University and was awarded a teacher's certificate, one of two degrees given at that time. She also attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Md., where she was a piano pupil of the noted Ernest Hutchinson. In addition to being an accompanist in frequent demand, she was a well known organist in the Clarksburg area, and although completely self taught, attained an enviable reputation in that field.
