- A Pennsylvania historical marker for Rev. John Corbley (aka Corbly) was erected at Corbly Memorial Baptist Church, Garards Fort, Greene County, Pennsylvania on November 15, 1994. The marker reads:

REV. JOHN CORBLEY (1733-1803)
A noted Baptist minister serving area congregations, Corbley was among some 150 men arrested by federal troops on the "Dreadful Night" of November 13, 1794. A vocal opponent of the U.S. excise task on whiskey, he was this area's best known participant in the Whiskey Rebellion and was seen as a threat by the Federalists. Imprisoned for a time in Philadelphia, Corbley returned here and remained active in the ministry.

On May 10, 1782, John Corbly's wife Elizabeth and three of their children were massacred by Indians. Two other daughters were scalped by survived.
