- He was also a past member of the Bay Area Officials Association. He was an active member and volunteer for Edison Memorial UMC. He remained a supporter of Edison Schools, most notably as the JV Baseball Coach and volunteer for the athletic department. He often served as a volunteer coach for his children and other local youth with Edison Youth Sports, North Coast Showtime and the Norwalk Rec. In high school he was a member of the undefeated "Iron 14" freshman football team and the 1996 Fostoria Redman State Football Championship team.
