    • 1920 Census, Marion County, WV (Paw Paw District), enumerated on Jan 16 1920:
      Nauten Dickey, 22, b. WVa (both parents b. WVa), salesman in general store; wife Josephine, 22, b. Maryland (father b. Maryland, mother b. Michigan).

      Newton and Josephine divorced prior to 1930.
      The 1930 Census found Newton listed as Newton R. Dicky, 33, single, electrician in coal mine, one of two boarders (the other a coal miner) in a private home in Micco, Logan County, WVa.
      The same census in Clarksburg found Josephine listed as daughter Josephine Dickey, 31, divorced, in the household of her widowed mother, also named Josephine. Newton and Josephine's daughters Phyllis and Mary were with her.
