    • Engagement announcement, "The Fairmont West Virginian," July 8 1919 (preprinted from Clarksburg Exponent), in its entirety:
      "Engagement Announced
      Mr. Lewis Maxwell, of "Willow Bend Estate," Doddridge county, has announced the engagement of his daughter, Miss Isabell Martha Maxwell, to
      Mr. H. Robert Young, of Pittsburgh, who has been attached to the supreme war council and American commission, to negotiate peace, Paris, France. No date has been set for tho wedding.
      Miss Maxwell is one of the popular society girls in this part of tho state, and is guite well known in Clarksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Senator Franklin Maxwell, and is a descendant of one of the most prominent families of West Virginia."

      Local news item, "The Washington Times," Feb 2 1920, p. 5, in its entirety:
      "Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Young, who is returned from Paris on the Mauretania, Tuesday, spent a short time in Washington on their way to West Virginia. After a visit there they will return to Washington and spend several months at Somerset House. Mrs. Young was Miss Maxwell, of 'Willow Bend Estate,' Doddridge county, W.Va., and an early autumn bride. Mr. Young will be on duty at the State Department." [1]
