SAM COWMAN HURT IN RUNAWAY SATURDAY
"Saturday afternoon S. L. Ford's team driven by Carl Lindville broke from a hitchingpost and ran away on the road just beyond the Wabash bridge. Sam Cowman was riding a horse just ahead of the team, and the frightened animals tried to pass him, going on opposite sides. His horse was thrown down and Mr. Cowman was caught in the wreck. He was very seriously bruised and for a time it was thought he had met his finish. However, he is recovering and no serious results are likely to follow."
