Records of the Doddridge County court, now on file at the West Virginia State Archives, show that on April 13, 1874, Samuel M. Williiams was given $43.60 for the support of Abraham Williams, a pauper.
In the 1880 Census, Abraham was one of several paupers enumerated at the County Poor Farm in Grant District, Doddridge County. [2]
