      Alex McCoy (sic), 50, farmer; Drusilla, 35; T. (male), 8. All born in Virginia.

      1870 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Aug 15 1870:
      Alexander McCloy, 59, b. Va. (father of foreign birth), common laborer; Ann E. M. McCloy, 24; Carrie A, 24, cannot write; Orlando, 6; Laura E, 3.
      (NOTE: In this census, Cary Ann McCloy's husband Sylvanus Dotson was enumerated in the household of William R & Emily J Thomas in the Central District of Doddridge County. Marital status was not recorded in 1870, but it appears that they were separated or divorced. Sylvanus remarried in 1874. When Cary remarried in 1877, she was identified as Cary A. McCoy (sic), marital status widowed.) [3]
