The following inquiry was posted to the Doddridge County Roots Facebook page by Alana Considine in June 2017. Anyone having possibly helpful information, including photos (especially of son Clarence), is encouraged to reply:

Can you help me identify my Doddridge County Roots? Are you descended from John Wesley Husk and Eliza Victoria Fox? My gr. grandfather Guy Earl Habercom Sr. lived his whole life wondering who his father was. His mother died of TB when he was 14 and had never told him. A man named Fred Chubb claimed to be his father but Guy never believed him. Guy told his son once that the name Husk meant something to him, but he didn't know what. I have had three members of our family take DNA tests. Many of the shared matches have the surname HUSK in their trees. That was very encouraging. (There are no plausible Chubb matches -- Guy's hunches seem to be right.) Most Husk matches have a connection to Doddridge County, West Virginia and the closest ones have John Wesley Husk (1849–1925) and his wife Eliza Victoria Fox (1850–1923) in them. I have created a tree for John and Eliza. They had 11 children 6 of them boys. I believe one of their sons is Guy's father. And that's where I'd love some help -- which son? (I have found Guy's birth record and there is no father listed. Guy said the town clerk told him the records burned.) Here is a list of the sons with how old they would have been in 1895 William Rufus b. 1871 -- 24 at time of Guy's birth George Wilson b. 1873 -- 22 John Marion b. 1875 -- 20 Floyd E. b. 1877 -- 18 Clarence E. b. 1879 -- 16 Robert Frederick b. 1887-- 8 (seems safe to rule him out)
