Event Notes Note (1) Obituary gives place of marriage as Charleston, WV, but marriage record indicates West Union, WV. Note (2) Birth record for Dollie Jane Nutter identifies her as her mother's 11th child. Birth record gives birth as Dec 12 1891, but Social Security Death Index has it as Dec 13 1892. Her age 27 given at time of June 1920 marriage would also indicate birth in 1892, but the birth record is quite clear with the earlier year and day. Her age was also given as 27 in the 1930 Census, enumerated in January. We can only speculate that at some point along the way, she decided to make herself a year and a day younger than she really was. Her Oct 1986 obituary, which identifies her as one of 13 children, does not specify a birthdate, but gives her age as 95. But she had not yet reached her 95th birthday, based on her birth record.
