Note (1) Birth date given in 1900 Census as Dec 1861.
Note (2) Doddridge County birth records show that H. E. Beck, white male, was born on
Feb 3 1885 [sic], son of Stephen B. & S. M. Beck.  This is a typed transcription
of the original handwritten record and is inconsistent with Harvie E. Beck's 
Feb 1886 birth date (age 14) in the 1900 Census, and with his parents' May 1885
marriage date.  It is likely that the transcribed birth record is in error and
that the actual birth date was Feb 3 1886.
