Event Notes
Note (1) Reuben Powell's will was probated in October 1832, leading some researchers
to erroneously conclude that he had died earlier that year.  But the 1827
Harrison County Minute Book entry pertaining to guardianship of his children
shows that he had died prior to Nov 19 1827.

The Harrison County Minute Book contains the following entry for Nov 19
1827:
"The Court doth assign Eleanor Powell guardian to Benjamin, Ralph, Joseph,
Nancy, William & Reuben, children of Reuben Powell, deceased, and thereupon the
said Eleanor with Joseph Bailey gave bond in the penalty of $100 conditioned
according to law."
