Event Notes Note (1) Birth date given in death record as Jan 10 1882, and birth date on headstone is also 1882. But the 1900 Census shows his birth date as Jan 1887, age 13, and his World War I draft registration card in 1917 shows it as Jan 10 1887, age 30. The 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records reflect the 1887 birth year, but the 1940 Census and WW II draft registration indicate 1882. We can only speculate why he started reporting the earlier birth date. Note (2) Birthplace given as Randolph County in marriage record, but as Barbour County in death record.
