The will of Benjamin Brown of Canterbury, husband of Hannah and father of Rufus and other children known to be in this family, was dated Nov 28 1791 and proved on Feb 7 1792 in Canterbury, Plainfield District, Windham County. Twenty-seven years later, in a court document dated Sep 14 1819, his real estate was distributed among his heirs as follows, relationships not stated: (1) Jedediah Brown, 1/8th part thereof beginning at the northwest corner adjoing land of Ebenezer Cady and Luther Brown. (2) Anna Parker, 1/16th part thereof bounded beginning at the highway at the southwest corner of Luther Brown's land. (3) Luther Brown, 1/8th part thereof beginning at the southwest corner of land set off to Anna Parker. (4) Daniel Brown, 1/8th part thereof beginning at the southwest corner of land set off to Luther Brown. (5) The heirs of Abigail Rider, 1/16th part thereof bounded beginning at the southwest corner of Benjamin Brown's land on the west side of the highway. (6) The heirs of Ebenezer Brown, 1/8th part thereof bounded beginning at the northeast corner of Benjamin Brown's land on the west side of the highway.
