The WV Births Index show that he was born in Doddridge County on Nov 14 1871, a son of Edgar & Mary N. Allen. His age in the 1880 Census was 7, and in the 1900 Census it was 28, in both cases listing him as a son of Edgar & Mary N. Allen in Doddridge County. Note (2) Birth date given as Feb 1887 in 1900 Census, and age 24 at time of 1914 marriage record would put it in about 1890, but death record states Jan 1 1886.
