Event Notes
Note (1) Birth date given in DAR Lineage Book as 1770.  But age 66 yr 8 mo on
headstone calculates to a birth date of May 1771.
Note (2) Inscription:  In Memory of Mrs. MARY, wife of Mr. RUFUS BROWN, who died
January 12th, 1838, aged 66 years and 8 months.  Further inscription:  "Beloved
by all her acquaintance and affectionate. Wife kind and tender mother
discharging all the duties of life as become a woman of a christian supported by

Note (3) Probable, but not confirmed.  The 1870 Census was the last record we have of
Ammi T. Brown.  He did not appear with son Ammi A in the 1874-75 Elmira city
directory, as he had in the  1869-70 Chenango County business directory.
