Event Notes
Note (1) Prior to starting high school, he attended Sherwood Grade School, where he
was the recipient of the Knights of the Golden Horseshoe award in the 8th grade.
Note (2) Following his discharge from the Army, he worked for Melpar, an engineering
firm in Alexandria, VA, and continued his education, taking night courses from
the University of Maryland. He completed his engineering degree in 1971. He then
worked at Value Engineering, the company which absorbed Melpar.
