Event Notes Note (1) Although her obituary, death record and headstone show her birth date as Dec 1 1882, her age was given as 18 at the time of her Aug 1898 marriage, the 1900 Census shows her birth date as Dec 1879, the 1920 Census shows her age as 39 (b. 1880 if birth month Dec), and the 1930 Census shows her age as 49 (b. 1880 if birth month Dec). The 1880 Census of Doddridge County, enumerated on Jun 2 1880, identifies her as Lucretia Dotson, age 6 months, a daughter in the household of Joslin & Arasonah Dotson (both age 32), other children Mary E. Dotson (14) and Jenavie Dotson (6). Doddridge County birth records, in the form of a typed transcription of the original ledger record, shows that Lucretia Dotson was born to Jerlean & Arsaniah Dotson on Aug 3 1880, an impossibility in view of her presence the June 1880 Census.
