Event Notes Note (1) Identified in the Civil War file of Sylvester Hughes (1821-1864) as the physician in attendance when Hughes was released from duty and sent home suffering from smallpox. Note (2) Birth date given in "Davis - The Settlers of Salem WV," p. 57, as Dec 1829. But 1900 Census shows it as Jan 1831, and age 41 in 1872 marriage record would also put it in 1831. Age 54 in 1893 marriage record is clearly incorrect. Note (3) In an enumeration of the County Poor Farm, listed as Tacy J. Bee, pauper, 41, widowed, disabled. Name Index
