That is the same death date that is on his headstone. (2) The Harrison County death record states that he died on July 4 1917, age 21y 1m 27d, which calculates to a birth date of April 7 1896. The age at death, if applied to the Aug 4 1917 death date, calculates to a birth date of May 8 1896, which is the same birth date that is on his headstone. It appears, then, that the birth and death dates on his headstone are most likely correct.
