    • News item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Jan 15 1925, in its entirety:
      BADLY BURNED
      Mrs. O. D. Furbee, aged 35 years, was badly burned about the legs and arms when her clothing caught fire from an open grate at her home on Buffalo Calf, Friday, January 2, 1925.
      Mr. Furbee received painful burns about the hands when he grabbed Mrs. Furbee and tried to smother the flames, but she broke away from him and he ran and caught her and smothered the flames out by grabbing a quilt from the bed and throwing her to the floor." [2]
