Event Notes
Note (1) Morris Braum reports Otho Means' birthdate as Sep 12 1801 in Virginia, while
Jeffrey Wood has it as Sep 12 1803 in Harrison Co.
Note (2) Although her death record reflects a death date of Nov 24 1916, her obituary,
published in the "West Union Record" of Thursday, Dec 28 1916, states that she
died "last  Wednesday at Greenwood."  That would reflect a death date of Dec 20
1916.  If the Wednesday reference is accurate, the Nov 24th date is incorrect,
since Nov 24 1916 fell on a Thursday.  Given these factors, and since it is
unlikely that a local obituary would be printed a full month after a death, it
is more likely that the death record is in error and that the Dec 20th death
date is correct.
