Note (2) James Ross enlisted on April 2, 1862 at Jackson River Depot.  He was present
until on leave on Dec 16 1862; present Feb 1863 until AWOL Aug 27 1863; present
Dec 1863 until deserting in June 1864.  He was captured and took the oath Sep
1864, age 45, 5'9" tall, dark hair, dark eyes, res. Alleghany County.
