Note (3) 1900 Census gives birth date as Jul 1899, the youngest of his mother's three children, and his death record specifies Jul 12 1899. But Doddridge County birth records identifies the third child born to his mother as Willie L. Coontz, born Jul 12 1898. Since no other record of Willie Coontz has been found, and no birth record for Portman Coontz has been found, this is apparently the same person. His name was given as Porter in the 1910 Census and in his death record, but Portman in the 1900 Census and in his marriage record.
