Cox (age 26, nationality English) and Lany Snider (age 24, nationality Irish), this being the mother's first child.  
Other records contradict the last item.  The original entry had only the last name, with the date in August not entered. 
First name, middle initial and specific date were added later.  This record and the one for an unnamed daughter of these 
parents, also born in Aug 1892, are entered consecutively in the birth record book.  Barring an inadvertent double 
entry, one can only assume that the birth was of twins, only one of whom survived.  Note, however, that the children 
subsequently born to these parents, the unnamed son on Jul 16 1894 and Brent Clyde Cox on Jul 12 1897, are identified in 
their birth records as their mother's 4th and 5th children respectively.  But their next child, Dessie Cox born on Jul 8 
1899, is also identified as the mother's 5th child, so that particular statistic is obviously not highly reliable.  The 
1900 Census entry for this family states that Jacob M. Cox's wife, Mary L, was the mother of six children, all of whom 
were still living. BR Bk 2, p. 55.
