Event Notes Note (1) A birth date for Hettie Jane Pierce is given as Apr 27 1889 in both her death record and obituary, but her birth record states Apr 27 1887, and sister Laura was born Jan 17 1889. Note (2) We originally had as the fourth child of Hughy James Pierce & Nancy Maria Gaston a daughter, Edna Pierce, source not documented. We had no info on her other than "died young." A later search of birth/death records turned up nothing for Edna Pierce. But we did find another previously unrecorded child: Dora E. Pierce, b. Jul 14 1891 to Hughy & Nancy, d. Jun 24 1898. The conclusion we reached is that Dora and Edna are one and the same, with the middle initial standing for Edna.
