Event Notes
Note (1) Numerous name variations are found in official records.  Doddridge Co Birth
Records identify him as Harry [sic] Paul Smith Jr., son of Harvy [sic] Smith &
Virginia Elliott.  But all other public records, including his marriage & death
records, his grave marker, as well as his obituary and the death record of his
son Terry, identify him as Paul H. Smith.  Since his older half-brother was
named Harvey Smith Jr., it is likely that the birth record entry was in error.
Note (2) Obituary specifies birthplace as Bluestone.
