Event Notes
Note (1) Military records show that Andrew H. Swiger enlisted in Co H, 4th W.Va.
Cavalry, on 25 Sep 1863 in Clarksburg, and mustered-in as a Private on 16 Oct
1863 in Clarksburg.  He mustered-out as Private on 8 Mar 1864 in Wheeling.  A
year later, he enlisted in Co I, 6th W.Va. Infantry, on 4 Mar 1865 at Grafton. 
He mustered-in as Private on 6 Mar 1865 at Grafton, and mustered-out 10 Jun 1865
at Wheeling as a Private.
NOTE:  The state-issued Civil War medal intended for him was never claimed
and is still in storage at the West Virginia State Archives.
