Note (2) Family Bible reportedly gives marriage date for Ruanna West and Watters Smith Jr. as Nov 6 1829, but William F. Donnelly, citing May 22 1932 Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram newspaper article, states it as Nov 6 1827. Differing still, Omar Davison, Stockton, CA, cites Nov 1 1828. Note (3) Records show that Sarah West was married, but her headstone gives her maiden name. There may have been a divorce and she took back the name of West.
