Event Notes Note (1) Age 26 in 1872 marriage record would put birth in about 1846, but 1900 Census states May 1848, age 52, while her 1923 death record states Mar 20 1840, age 83. Parents identified in her marriage record as (father not given) & Mary, but in death record as John Cane (sic) & Polly. This is probably the same Harriet Cain who was in the household of John & Catharine Cain in the 1850 Census of Ritchie County. We have not found her in the 1860 or 1870 censuses. Note (2) Birth date on headstone is 1871, with name spelled Conoway.
