Note (1) Barton Hudkins Hickman was 2nd Lieutenant in Co. A, 46th Battalion, Virginia.
Infantry, Confederate States of America.  He was captured in near Toll Gate,
Ritchie County, on 30 Sept 1864 and sent to Camp Chase, where he was received on
7 Oct 1864.  He was part of a Prisoner Parole Exchange on 4 Mar 1865 and
transferred to City Point, Virginia, for an exchange.  He was born in Harrison
County and a resident of Ritchie County in 1863.
