Davis, 22, single, cannot read/write, in household of sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca & Ai Williams. Note (2) Birth date given in death record as Mar 12 1868, age 82. But her age in both marriage records would put it at about 1871, as does age 39 given in 1910 Census, while the 1900 Census specifies March 1871. Note (3) Birth date given in 1900 Census as July 1874, Listed as nephew Lenvill Davis in household of his mother's brother, Martin V. Davis. Note (4) Birth date given in death record as Apr 28 1874, and date on headstone is also 1874. But age 32 in 1910 Census would put birth at about 1878, and age 3 in 1880 and age 53 in 1930 Census puts it at about 1877. His World War I Draft Registration Card states his birth date as Apr 28 1875, while the SSDI specifies Apr 28 1876. A delayed birth record, filed in Doddridge County on Sep 18 1942 on affidavit of his sister Ellen, indicates that his birth was in Newman W.Va. on Apr 28 1875.
