(7) Immediate family, No birth record has been found for Clella Haught, who was born out of wedlock to Nancy "Babe" Haught. According to family tradition, Clella's father was Sylvester Orval Prunty (1878-1956), son of Marshall Neal Prunty and Flora Odell Lawson. However, Clella's marriage record identifies her as Clella M. Haught, daughter of F. O. Prunty and A. A. (Haught) Brown. It was long thought that "F. O." was an error that should have been "S. O." But information provided in 2010 by a Prunty family member reveals the existence of old family letters indicating that Clella's father was not Sylvester O. Prunty, but rather his brother Felix O. Prunty (1883-1967). Apparently out of shame, Felix had left the Doddridge/Ritchie area in 1904 shortly before Clella's birth, returned in 1907 long enough to get married, then moved permanently to Oklahoma.
