There is a conflict between the death record maintained at Mineral County and the death certificate on file at the State of West Virginia. The county death record states that Lloyd H. Gaston, age 45, married, occupation dentist, died of ulcerative endocarditis in Keyser on Aug 4 1918. The state death certificate identifies him as Lloyd H. Gaston, age 45y2m20d, born in Lewis Co on Aug 4 1863, son of Abram Gaston & Sarah Morris, died of ulcerative endocarditis in Keyser on Oct 24 1918, burial Oct 27 1918 in Keyser, informant his wife, certificate signed by medical authority on Oct 31 1918. The conclusion is that his correct dates are Aug 4 1873 to Oct 24 1918, that the county-level record inadvertently entered his birth date instead of his death date, and that the state-level record entered 1863 at his birth year rather than the 1873 which would conform to his age given in both death records and in his marriage record.
