Event Notes Note (1) Age 24 given at time of marriage would put birth in about 1838. But 1850 Census shows age as 17, putting birth in about 1833. Note (2) Death record shows his date of death as Mar 17 1871, age 8, putting his birth in about 1863. But the death date on his headstone is Mar 20 1871, age 7m 27d. Since he was not with his family in the 1870 Census, it appears that the stated age in his death record is in error. Whether the exact death date was March 17th or 20th, the inscribed age would put his birth in mid-July 1870, either July 18th or 21st. However, this family's household was enumerated on Aug 5 1870, leading to the conclusion that the headstone age was also in error and that perhaps his actual birth was in mid-August rather than mid-July.
