Event Notes
Note (1) Susie Davis Nicholson, p. 83, reports birth date as Apr 21 1844 and death
date as 1877.  But "Ritchie County Cemeteries," p. 486, reports death date on
headstone as Jul 7 1876, with age 37y 2m 18d.  That computes to a birth date of
Apr 19 1839.  In the 1870 Census of Ritchie County she was identified as Elcie
C. Brown, age 26, which would correspond to a birth date in 1844.  Similarly,
her marriage record in Feb 1860 states her age as 16.
