    2. [S638] Headstone (year only).
Headstone gives birth date as 1851, and age 10 given at time of the June enumeration of the 1860 Census would support that. But age 21 at time of marriage in March 1869 would put birth at about 1847/48, while age 77y11m21d given on death record would put birth date at Jan 7 1845. The 1851 date is considered correct, with the age at marriage being misstated to avoid parental consent, and the age at death simply being an error.

Identified as Marguerite Law Maxson, born in Gilmer Co, dau of Thomas T. & Nancy (Eakle) Law, died Dec 28 1922, age 77y11m21d.

    6. [S1739] Gilmer County WV Marriages 1845-1933, (Wes Cochran, 2515 10th Ave, Parkersburg WV 26101 (Jan 1989)).
Identified as Elisha J. Maxon [sic], age 24, b. Doddridge Co, res. Ritchie Co; and Margaret E. [sic] Law, age 21. Married Mar 10 1869. The middle initial E is probably a transcription error from the handwritten original, and should be a C.
