DAVIS - LONG
"The Parkersburg Sentinel Monday evening announed the marriage of Granville H. Davis, of Salem, father of H. H. Davis, a prominent Clarksburg jeweler, as follows:
"Announcement has been made of the marriage of Mrs. Anna Long, of this city, and Mr. Granville H. Davis, of Salem, W.Va., which occurred in New York City. The wedding was in the nature of an elopement, as the bride and bridegroom slipped off quietly without telling their relatives and friends of the important event to transpire until it was over.
"The bride is an attractive and accomplished young woman who has made her home for some time in Parkersburg with her sister, Mrs. Thomas Bennington, and she has many friends who will hear of her marriage with pleasure and surprise. The bridegroom is a well known oil operator of Salem, and is a gentleman of superior attribute. After a wedding journey in the East, Mr. and Mrs. Davis will return to Salem where a handsomely furnished home awaits their arrival."
