Notes |
- On Jan 20 1794, Thomas Clayton (Claton) bought 250 acres on the Middle Fork of Tenmile Creek, Harrison County, (W)VA, from Daniel Davisson. He sold that land to William Tate on Dec 23 1806, giving his residence as Warren County, Ohio. Thomas Clayton and his family, including the married children, had migrated to Warren County, Ohio, in 1805. Previously, they had joined the settlement at Salem (W)VA in about 1793. Though the spelling "Clayton" is sometimes found, "Claton" is the more common, both for Thomas and his children. [2]
