HAS HIGHEST I.Q. AT NAVY RECRUITING STATION
The highest intelligence quotient grade ever recorded at the Clarksburg Navy recruiting station during the last several years, according to J. B. Underwood Jr., head of the station, was achieved by Keith Curry, 17, of West Union, one of the ten recruits sent to Huntington last week for final enlistment.
Curry, who rated 71 points out of a possible 73, was graduated from Doddridge County High School in West Union and has since been employed in Ohio as a tree surgeon.
Commander Keith R. W. Curry was a member of Attack Squadron 145, Carrier Air Wing 2, aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS RANGER (CVA-61). On January 8, 1971, he was flying in a Grumman Attack Aircraft Intruder (A-6C) over North Vietnam when he was Killed in Action. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.

In December 2015, a sailor who had served under CDR Curry posted the following message on his online memorial. Curry had been the sailor's Executive Officer:
"XO, you were a kind and compassionate man who cared about those under your command. I still remember the moment we lost you as if it was yesterday. God Bless."
