      "Mr. V. E. Dotson is acting the gentleman, only for a short time though."

      Local news item, "Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, Aug 31 1916, in its entirety:
      "Mrs. Lucy Dotson is erecting a fine porch in front of the Grant House, which will add materially to the appearance as well as to the convenience of this splendid old property, when the improvement is completed."
