Her obituary states her birth date simply as 1834, as does her headstone. While her marriage record indicates birthplace as Monongalia County, her obituary states the neighboring Greene County, Pennsylvania. The border between the two counties was inexact and changing at that time, and it is not unusual to have both counties reported as a birthplace.
