    • Minnie Kendall Lowther's "Ritchie County in History and Romance," p. 298, and "Ritchie County Cemeteries through 1993," p. 596, incorrectly report unmarked graves for Thomas William Bayne and wife Maria Louisa Cox at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, near Pullman (Co Rds 9 & 7/4), in Ritchie County. "Ritchie County Cemeteries," p. 504, also reports burial and headstone for Thomas W. Bayne at the Cox Cemetery at Slab Creek, but nothing there for his wife. Discovery of headstones for them have confirmed that they are both buried at the Cox Cemetery at Slab Creek.

      Entry on p. 504 for Cox Cemetery reads: Thomas W. Bayne, d. Sept 6 1880, age 56 yrs; Co K, 10th WV Inf, CW. There is also this conflicting entry on p. 596 for Mt. Pisgah Cemetery: William T. Bane, no date, unmarked, with reference to Minnie Kendall Lowther's "History of Ritchie County," p. 341, and "Ritchie County in History and Romance," pp. 297-298. An adjacent entry on p. 596 for the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery reads thus: "Louisa Cox Bane, no dates, unmarked, wife of William T. Bane, daughter of Daniel V. Cox." This is incorrect, as her headstone has been found at the Cox Cemetery at Slab Creek.
