Born 11 Mar 1754 Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co, NJ [1] Gender Male Military Harrison County Woodrangers [2] - James Davis from Clark County, Ohio, in a sworn deposition, said that he and William Davis served in 1794 in the Harrison County Woodrangers under Col. William Lowther, Capt. Cornelius Bogard and Ensign Jonathan Coburn for 9-1/2 months.
Military Revolutionary War [2] - Calvin Davis, grandson of William Davis, said that since the fall of 1830 he heard Ephraim Bee of Harrison County, Virginia, say that "William Davis was a Tory for he had killed his father and he could prove it." Calvin also said that there had been a misunderstanding between Ephraim Bee and William Davis over a year ago. He said that Ephraim Bee was "a malicious ill-disposed person." Reuben Davis also overheard Ephraim Bee say the same thing and that Ephraim Bee would endeavor to stop William Davis from receiving a pension.
