      Persons providing information for the marriage record were Eldwin Carroll and S. J. Squires. Exact identity and relationship of the latter was not indicated, but he may have been Samuel Jackson Squires (1884-1967) whose daughter Jewell married Russell Broadwater. Halie's sister Hazel married Frank Broadwater, relationship to Russell not known, if any at all. Although identified as "Eldwin Carroll" in the marriage record, obituary of wife identified him as "Elden (Hez) Carroll."
