- He was a retired coal miner, having worked at the Dawson Mine at Gypsy, WV, and several other area mines. He had also been employed by Spencer Enterprises of Doddridge County in the oil and gas industry, and was also self-employed timberman. Among others, survived by a son, James H. Garrison Jr, of Canton OH, and daughters Rosemary "Sally" White, Cleveland OH, Penny Tanner, New Martinsville WV, Sandra Rose, New Martinsville WV, Susan Landers, Avondale (West Union) WV, and Kathy Cork, Smithburg, with whom he made his home. Among others, predeceased by three infant children and daughter, Shirley Schaffner. [2]
