      John Lattea, 44, farmer on rented farm, married 9 yrs; wife Martha C, 27, married 9 yrs, mother of 2 children (1 still living); dau Addie E, 2.

      1920 Census, Gilmer County, WV (Troy District), enumerated on Jan 29 1920:
      John F. F. Lattea, 54, farmer; wife Martha C, 37; dau Addie E. B. M., 12; son Lewis K, 9.

      Following John F. Lattea's death in February 1929, Martha married Edward Tomey in November of the same year.

      1930 Census, Gilmer County, WV (Glenville District), enumerated on Apr 8 1930 at Grass Run:
      Martha Tomey, 47, married; dau Mary Tomey, 7; son Robert L. Tomey, 4.
      NOTE: Whereabouts of Martha's husband is not known. Edward Tomey died just six months later of heart disease. The children should have been listed with the surname Lattea, as they were Martha's children by her first husband. The next enumerated household was that of George W. Lattea (57, widowed, farmer), brother of Martha's first husband John F. Lattea.

      Two years after husband Edward Tomey's death, Martha married Charles A. Varner in October 1930. Charles died of tuberculosis in February 1936, leaving Martha widowed for the third time.
