  	Donald E. Ramage's "Doddridge County Cemeteries," Vol. IV, p. 75, reports birth/death dates for David Jennings as 8 March 1854 - 24 March 1855, age 1 year 16 days, based on the 1933 WPA cemetery reading. Readings of the cemetery by Ramage in 2001 and by Wes Cochran in 1990 ("West Union WV Cemeteries") did not locate a readable headstone for him. A birth record for David Jennings is on file in Doddridge County, stating that he was born on 3 March 1855, at variance with the headstone reading. The birth record is a typewritten entry on a ledger-style record book page, and the birth date entered there is believed to be an error in transcription from the original handwritten record. Whether the birth date was on the 3rd or 8th of the month, the headstone clearly shows that his age at death was a little over one year.
