      Identified as Scott H. Hall, single, 22, b. Wood Co, res. Doddridge Co, son of Edward & Sabra A. Hall; and Mary E. Davis, single, 21, b. Doddridge Co, res. Harrison Co, dau of John & Minda Davis. Married 5 March 1897 at Indian Run in Harrison County, officiated by S. Gaines, a minister in the Baptist Church. Informants for license: S. H. Hall & E. L. Hall.
      NOTE: Basis for Mary Davis's parents being identified as John & Minda Davis, rather than Salathiel & Almeda Davis, is not known, but is likely a result of the informants simply making an honest mistake. It is noted that three months after this wedding, when Mary's brother Martin married Scott Hall's sister Fidella, Martin's parents were identified as Salathiel & Almeta Davis. Additionally, Mary's parents were properly identified when she remarried in 1933.
