      Identified as Jas. O. Duckworth, 23, b. Allegany Co Maryland, res. Doddridge Co, son of A. N. & Sarah Duckworth, farmer; and Elizabeth S. Menear, 18, b. Preston Co, res. Doddridge Co, dau of Azariah & Catherine Manear. Married Aug 3 1862, officiated by John Conwell.
      (NOTE: Although at first glance, the marriage date could be read as Sep 3 1862, closer examination reveals the date as Aug 3 1862. Furthermore, Azariah Menear, Elizabeth's father, testified in her Widow's Pension affidavit that the family Bible says she and James O. Duckworth were married on 3 Aug 1862. Other affidavits in James O. Duckworth's military records support the 3 Aug 1862 date. Records further reflect that James O. Duckworth was married before he went to war.)
